Janine Cooper Ayres began
painting and playing bass guitar in high school (in Cupertino, California). She moved to Los Angeles
in 1986 and within a month she was touring with North Carolina Band, Let's Active. She did two eastern U.S. Tours
with them, the second of which opening for R.E.M.
Upon returning to Los Angeles, she continued playing music and
also began working in the film industry as a scenic artist and set dresser. She worked on Oliver Stone's "The
Doors" movie, recreating several of Jim Morrison's sketches. She also worked on The Wonder Years for three years
as their on-set scenic/set dresser. Janine has also worked for companies like Walt Disney and Universal Studios.
More recently Janine sell and rents her artwork to TV shows and feature films. ABC'S "According
To Jim" rented nine of her paintings for the show in 2010.
Janine also teaches art to kids and
seniors. She's currently hosting Saturday afternoon workshops at Sunrise Assisted Living in Santa Clarita, California
where she lives with her husband who is a screenwriter and book editor.
She is also co-owner of www.Tunelittle.com - songwriting workshops for kids and she runs a small record label - Music 2 Educate.
